I ♥ Faces -- Constructive Feedback

It's constructive feedback day at IHeartFaces;
D60 50mm f/2.8 1/60 sec ISO 100 WB AutoThis photo was taken right around dusk in the woods. It drives me nuts. I have problems getting it 'brightened up' without looking over done or blowing the yellow and green crazy.
I did the inital editing in raw editing with photoshop elements 7. In photoshop I used the dodge and burn tool on her face and hands.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I think you have a good start! Love the light on her face! Next time to get it right in camera, I would up that ISO!!
To fix this particular picture, I would do a curves layer and bring up the midtones (brighten it further...make a small rainbow with the curve), and then probably add a soft light layer and bring it down to maybe 20% to add some contrast.
Then her hand looks cool to me too (in comparison to her face), so I would do another curves layer and up the red and decrease the blue until her hand looked right, then erase back everything else in the picture except her hand...
Then, since you lightened it so much, you'll need to use noiseware to get rid of the noise...
Hope that helps!
Your edit looks great : ) so natural still! I love her hair and her fingernail polish! She looks fantastically fun : )
You did a great job on your photo.
I decided to play around with it as well. I started off with creating a new layer. Next, I lightened up the image a bit. Then I ran a layer mask to brush back the color of the background and the shirt. I then dodged and burned the eyes just a little bit, ran unsharp mask with a setting of 150-1-10. Here is the image I ended up with : http://i445.photobucket.com/albums/qq178/boybariandad/LexiIheartfacesnew.jpg
Thanks again for being part of Feedback Friday.
